Volcanoes!

Today we went to The Hall and met some people who work at The Auckland Museum.  They were teaching us about

Volcanoes!

We learned about ACTIVE volcanoes, SLEEPING (Dormant) volcanoes and EXTINCT volcanoes.

Then we got to make a volcano.
Can you believe it?
Max put some tomato sauce in the mix.
Hannah put some dish washing liquid in.
Cian stirred it all together.

We added vinegar and poured it into the little volcano model with some baking soda.
THEN,
LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!!

Road Safety with Constable Ian.

Today we had a Policeman come to Room 1. He had a song to teach us:

STOP!

LOOK!

AND LISTEN!

BEFORE YOU CROSS THE STREET!

USE YOU EYES,

USE YOUR EARS,

BEFORE YOU USE YOUR FEET!

We went outside to the Crossing for Elm Park School.

We had to WAIT when we saw the RED Crossing Light with the RED person.

And then we could cross safely when we saw the GREEN Crossing Light person.

Mrs Kerr and Constable Ian were really happy when we all got back to the classroom safely :)

Whole School Assembly.

We are walking to Assembly. On the way, we stopped to have our photo taken in front of the lovely Sensory Garden. Can you see the gorgeous Kowhaiwhai panels? This is a walking space at Elm Park School so we can wander through here during our break times.

Then we went to Assembly in The Auditorium with the WHOLE SCHOOL!! Here we are sitting very quietly waiting for all of the students to arrive.

Hello from Mrs Kerr to all of my Room 1 friends, This morning I was allowed to go into Elm Park School and help to make the Learning Packs...
